内村鑑三 後世への最大遺物・デンマルク国の話 Great remains to future/The story of Denmark by Kanzo Uchimura

内村鑑三の2つの講演録。

1つ目は、後世への最大遺物とは、金や建物、あるいは思想ではなく、その人物が生涯にどんな良いことを行ったかである、という内容。

2つ目は、ヨーロッパの小国が敗戦のあとに復活した原因は、何よりも国民の精神的な力であった、という内容。

いずれも、物よりも心を重視した内村の思想をよく表している。内村は、当時の政治経済学を批判して、”アダム・スミス、J・Sミルもいまだ真理を語らない”と言っている。

東日本大震災の後、よく耳にする言葉に、”物の復興も大事だが、心の復興の方が大事”ということばは、この内村の考え方とも共通するものがある。

This book includes 2 lectures by Uchimura.

First is what is most remains which we can give to future. The answer is not money and architecture or objects but the good things what we have done in our life.

Second is the story of Denmark, a small country in europa. Denmark has lost the war but come back by the nation spirt with small land and wealth.

Uchimura believed mind is more important than money, land and objects. He said Adam Smith and J.S.Mill told us the truth.

Japanese says the recovery in mind is more than in infrastructures after 3/11 big earthquake and tsunami. Uchimura would agree with this.
