田辺聖子 小倉百人一首（角川文庫） Hyakunin Isshu by Seiko Tanabe

大衆作家の田辺聖子らしい、楽しい雰囲気で、百人一首を紹介する。

それぞれの歌の現代語訳、作家の生涯やエピソードの紹介など。架空の熊八という人物を登場させ、作者と熊八が、所々で漫才を展開し、読者を飽きさせない工夫をしている。

ただし、残念なのは、織田正吉の『絢爛たる暗号』という、百人一首の謎解き本からの話題が多すぎること。時々、百人一首を解説しているのか、織田の本を解説しているのか、わからなくなる。

そうした欠点はあるが、百人一首の入門書としては、まずまずの内容だろう。

Tanabe, a popolar writer introduces about Hyakunin Isshu with many humor.

She translates each Waka by today's word and explain the author 's life and episode. She created a person, Kumahachi in this book and make him play as a clown.

But one deficit is that she refers to a book by Masayoshi Oda about the background of Hyakunin Isshu too much.

This book is a good one as a introduction to the world of Hyakunin Isshu although the defect.
