白川静 中国古代の民俗 Chinese Ancient Folklore by Shizuka Shirakawa

白川は、冒頭で、柳田国男の民俗学について、海外との関係を、無視していると批判している。

白川によれば、古代の日本は、中国の広範な影響が見受けられるので、中国古代の民俗を学ぶことで、日本の古代の民俗を知ることにもなるという。

特に印象的だったのは、白川の詩経についての解釈。単なる自然の美しさを詠ったようにもえる詩も、実は、呪術的な意味がある、と解釈している。

その詩経と、日本の万葉集を比較して、その共通性と違いを分析している部分も、興味深かった。
