花田清輝 復興期の精神(講談社 文芸文庫) Spirits of Renaissance by Kiyoteru Hanada

戦時中に雑誌に掲載された文章を、戦後間もない昭和46年に、新たな文章も加えて、出版されたもの。戦後の芸術界のみならず、文化全体に影響を与えた、古典的な名著。

自らの知識をひけらかすような、キザな文章は、今日から見ると、ダサ過ぎる、という印象は拭えない。しかし、当時の時代の雰囲気を、よく表している。

ダンテ、ダ・ヴィンチ、マキャベリなど、ルネサンス期を中心としたヨーロッパの人物論だが、花田の視点は、過去にではなく、戦争をはさんだ当時の日本に向けられている。

そして、そこで論じられているのは、ルネサンス期の人物たちではなく、紛れもなく、花田本人の心である。

すべてに冷めてしまった今日では、花田のような、ダサ過ぎるほどの、熱い気分こそが、本当は一番必要なのかもしれない。

Almost articles of this book was written just before the end of World Wide War II. This book was published just after the war.

The way of writing the articles is very old style from the current view point. I make sense the atmosphere of that age from the style.

Hanada mentioned the thought of Renaissance like Dante, Da Vinci and Machiavelli but his intention of this boom in not for old age but for his living age.
